About the Association:

ACPRE-Australia was incorporated in 1998 and until this year has been the only association in Australia dedicated to the P.R.E. Horse, providing all Australian Breeders of Purebred Spanish horses the opportunity to apply for registration in the official Purebred Spanish Horse Studbook (LG PRE).

There is only one PRE Stud Book world wide, and it is held in Spain under the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA). On the 1 st of January 2007 MAPA gave the management of the Stud Book to ANCCE, the largest national breeder's association in Spain. Previously the administration was done by FESCCR, a department of the Spanish Ministry of Defence, and ACPRE-Australia Inc. was the association recognised to represent Australian breeders.

In July 2007 ACPRE-Australia Inc. received provisional authorisation from the new administrators ANCCE, to continue to provide service to breeders until such a time as the situation in Australia is formalized.

Some of the purposes of the association are to liaise, establish and maintain official recognition with the LG PRE in Spain for purposes of evaluation of the P.R.E. horses in Australia, meeting the breed conformation standards and for the purposes of learning and educating members and the public about the LG PRE selection scheme.

ACPRE-Australia Inc. provides service without discrimination to all breeders. You do not have to be a member to request a service from the association.

ACPRE-Australia Inc. has for the last 10 years been the official collaborating association with the Spanish Stud Book (LG PRE).

ACPRE-Australia Inc. has enabled and administered the inscription and evaluation of all the P.R.E. horses in Australia.

ACPRE-Australia Inc. maintains in its archives the records of all the P.R.E. horses in Australia.

ACPRE-Australia Inc. has been the only association to organise and run an official PRE breed show “Concurso Morfológico Oficial” in Australia in March 2006, following the rules set by Spain and using an official judge.

ACPRE-Australia Inc. is proud to have as patron His Excellency, the Ambassador of Spain in Australia, Mr Antonio Cosano.
